Brief History of Jomaro International Schools

The journey of Jomaro International School began in 1994, inspired by a passionate concern for the children of Jeddo Community in Delta State, Nigeria. At that time, many indigent students walked several kilometers to neighboring communities just to access basic education.

In response to this challenge, Jomaro International School was founded and later officially licensed in 1996.
The founder’s vision was grounded in compassion, community upliftment, and a firm belief that every child deserves the chance to learn and succeed.

Guided by the school's motto, "Dieu le Premiere" (God First), Jomaro International School began as a small initiative driven by passion and purpose. Over the years it has grown into a respected institution known for its commitment to academic excellence, moral discipline and the holistic development of its students.

Today, the school continues to uphold the legacy of its founder, Mr. Jonathan Ovbiye (of blessed memory) by providing a safe, inspiring, and accessible learning environment for all- ensuring that distance, background, or circumstance is never a barrier to education.

Mr Ovbiye has strengthened his professional expertise through training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, USA. where he earned a certificate in School Management and Leadership. He successfully completed Harvard's core leadership tracks: Leading School Strategy and Innovation, Leading Change, Leading People, and Leading Learning.

In addition to this, he is an Associate Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria demonstrating excellence in organizational and financial management.
He also holds Bachelor degree from the department of Mathematics and Computer Science and also Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria.

With a strong interest in technology and modern eductional systems, Mr. Ovbiye is an AWS-Certified Cloud Practitioner and also holds professional certifications in Cybersecurity. His combined expertise in education, finance, and ICT continues to drive the school's advancement, international programs, and digital transformation initiatives.
